The main function of human resource is to ensure that your company complies with the set labor laws. These set of laws vary depending on the location and country that the company is in. These labor laws are always written down within the constitution of a certain company. They include things like how the business will run, regulations of employment and many more. This is very important to any employee because it will determine a lot of things such as the number of working hours, breaks that they can take from work and the age that they are allowed to retire at.
Recriutment and training of employees of any company or organization is also another key function of a human resource department. They are the ones who will announce for open positions in the company and accept in job applications. Experience, gender, age, academic qualifications etc are some of the factors that the human resource will use to determine the kind of person fit for that open position. When they are done with selecting the people who will fill the open positions, they will train them accordingly and orient them to the system. In addition it is the human resource that will publish the necessary documents needed for employees such as the company rules and regulations and also the documents needed for training the new candidates.
It is the human resource department that is in charge of keeping the records of the employees. These documents will have to contain their personal information and those of their immediate family members who can be contacted during emergencies. They will have all the records of employees. The human resource department also issues salaries, give salary raise and also deduct your salaries if they have to. For the sake of the company they will keep some records such as expenses of the company, all the business transactions of the company and even their expenditure records which is very important to you as a company or organization.
